Parent Partnership
At Wellies we are committed to working with you to ensure your child has a positive Nursery experience. We will listen & respond to your wishes when caring for your child. We will meet with you & your child before they begin Nursery & discuss routines, meals, dislikes & favourites! This is followed by 2 short sessions – allowing your child to get to know us!
We will meet with you every day – when welcoming your child to Nursery & when you collect your child – we will ask you how your child is & at the end of the day inform you of activities, learning, meals & general welfare.
Records of development are kept in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. These observations are collected by your child’s Key worker in every age group. We welcome any observations about your child’s progress – from you & will record these to add to their records, along with photographs of activities & some pieces of art.
Progression from room to room usually occurs every 6 months – these records will be shared with you & there is a space for you to add any comments about your child. There will be information about your child’s achievements & how we will progress their learning.
The Academic Year before your child goes to school will be spent in our top group – Super Ted’s. We hold 2 Parents Evenings per year – usually in February & June – when there is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s Key worker & discuss your child’s learning journey.
The Wellies Team are very knowledgeable about childcare & will be happy to advise you with any childcare issues you may have – potty training, good eating habits, positive discipline & playing together.
