"Old MacDonald had a virtual farm, Ee I ee I oh! And on that farm, he had some lambs! ....."

March is a busy but joyous month to celebrate for many reasons! Apart from being the start of the Spring season, March is also known as the month of new beginnings, and now with the added promise of leaving lockdown firmly behind, we can start to see a shift back to normality as we once knew it hard on our ‘woolly tails!’
Apart from ‘springing’ forward to longer, warmer days and shorter nights, we have lots of reasons to celebrate from spending quality time with the family on Mother’s Day, to enjoying a Guinness or two for St. Patrick’s Day, and a chilled beer for St. David’s Day.

Our farmers are particularly busy making hay while the sun shines, with their annual lambing and calving seasons in ‘full swing,’ as well as fertilising the soil and sowing crops and potatoes ready for harvesting and enjoying from mid-September onwards.

Although the pandemic has prevented us from enjoying family outings, its time to ‘plough back’ a level of normality and enjoyment by sitting back with a cuppa and enjoying the amazement of lambing – ONLINE!

Many farmers across the county are setting up their webcams to stream live the wonderful and anticipated birth of their little lambs for you to watch from the comfort of your living room.
By clicking HERE and registering, you can gather your little ones together and really feel part of something wonderful!

Below is a little list of little things that also make March a magnificent and magical month:

• The rain in March makes for amazing muddy puddles!
• The cheery blooms of daffodils are the official flower of March to spring through the post winter soil.
• It’s Woman’s History Month!
• March's birthstones are aquamarine and bloodstone which symbolise courage!

So, let’s all ‘march’ into a truly amazing and mood-boosting month together!
