At Wellies Day Nursery, your child's safety & wellbeing is important to us.
“Safeguarding includes the responsible use of all electronic devices with imaging, recording and sharing capabilities. This encompasses mobile phones, cameras, tablets, smartwatches and other electronic devices. Our commitment to safeguarding children includes obtaining parental consent for capturing visual or audio content, securely storing and sharing such content, reporting concerns, and addressing allegations against staff as outlined in our policies and procedures. Team members are not permitted to take electronic devices belonging to the setting home. Team Members are not permitted to bring their own phones, tablets or cameras into the setting rooms whilst children are present.”
We implement policies inline with National Guidance from Ofsted - using the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023
Policies are shared with you on Registration - via the link sent by email or in the files on the EyParent App.

Policies are reviewed at least annually.
All team members review and agree to follow the Policies set by Wellies Day Nursery
We follow Safer Recruitment and all of the team have an Enhanced DBS check and 2 references prior to employment.
When team members join us, they have a thorough Induction Procedure which includes Safeguarding, Emergency Procedures and Risk Assessments
Team members access training throughout the year, which keeps them up to date and supports Professional Development
There is a Trained Paediatric First Aider on site at all times
Risk Assessments are reviewed at least annually.
There is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on site or able to be contacted during Nursery Opening hours.
There is an out of hours contact number for the DSL within the Child Protection Policy.

Milton Keynes MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub)- The MASH has a core team of representatives from Children’s Social Care, police, health and adult safeguarding co-located at Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes. It also has links with education, probation, housing, youth offending team and CAMHS (Child and adolescent mental health).
